Happy Place - A film about fly fishing and mental health.

My journey as a fly fisherman has taught me something undeniable: when I’m on the river, I’m in a different state of mind. It might sound cliché, but fly fishing has a unique way of shifting our perspective. All the troubles and worries that weighed on me hours before my feet hit the water seem to wash away with the current.

Luke is a friend and local guide on the Bow River, and we connected over this shared experience. When we started talking about creating a film together, it became clear that we both recognized the powerful impact fly fishing has had on our mental health. This film captures Luke’s journey as a guide, his path toward self-acceptance, and how facing adversity is easier when we do it together.

Luke is a reminder that we’re never truly alone in our struggles. Whether it’s fly fishing or something else, find what brings you to your happy place and pursue it with purpose.
